Half Full or Half empty?

If you are the latter and/or feel the pain of the world and what we do to each other around our beautiful planet then you may have noticed on flicking your tv remote that things are not very good…

That’s the scene set and it is supported by the haunting riff and very disturbing piano.

There is indeed a monster coming…. Beware

Sample

This is another track that I had been messing about with at home. The track was originally called “Monster” and that name seems to have been the inspiration for the lyrics that followed.

Its coming and there’s no place to hide. A radio friendly wee ditty and short by Pallas standards!

Quite hooky. There’s a major chord in the verse that reminds me of something by Bowie – so I’m pretty cool with it!

I love this track, though I’m aware that some of my colleagues don’t feel quite so warmly about it.

I love the creeping feel of it, and really love the chorus riff. I also really enjoy Paul’s vocal delivery in this track.

This is very different from your normal Pallas song, and I find it very hooky, and difficult to get out of my mind once I have heard it.

Lyrics

I hear no music on the radio
Switch on my Tv there's nothing left amuses me
Can’t find a movie or a comedy show
No sound of laughter no happy ever after
I see them talking but don’t hear what they say
They're all sounding crazy it truly starts to faze me
It's just outrageous their hate appears contageous
They take it the wire, they take it the wire….

I feel a monster… I feel a monster coming
I fear a monster… I hear a monster coming

I see the soldiers as they’re boarding their plane
They smile and they’re taunting, a bravery that’s haunting
Broken mothers fear they come home again
Wrapped up in a flag, huh

Tin pot dictators chase their own atom bomb
While this planet is melting and no one cares for helping
We argue over nothing my head is really hurting
They take it to the wire, take it the to wire….

I feel a monster… I feel a monster coming
I fear a monster… I hear a monster coming

I am just an ordinary guy
The world's gone crazy I couldn’t tell you why
I hear no music just distant angry voices
Fear in the air, panic everywhere
It tears my soul apart, the hatred and lies
I see my friends, despair in their eyes
Something tells me the end has begun
A monster's coming there's no place to run

Run

I feel a monster… I feel a monster coming
I hear a monster… I fear a monster’s coming
I feel a monster… I fear a monster coming
I see a monster… I see a monster coming………
